About Us
Barnyard Bassets are located in a small country setting in Orange, Virginia. We are a brand new small family owned business. We started farming over 5 years ago with chickens, a few pigs, several large gardens and a pet goat. With the costs of hay and feed rising daily in the past few months, we were left with a choice of either getting rid of our animals or finding a new market. Thats when Barnyard Bassets all natural dog treats and gifts was born!
We share our home with three bassets. Rudolph is foster dog from the House of Puddles! He came to us because of aggression issues with some of the other male dogs. Rudolph has had a long life of abuse before coming into rescue. He has since started to come out of his shell and become a very loving dog. Penelope came to us a puppy whose owners were ready to take her to the pound because they could not house break her! She's been with us since she was a little over 13 weeks old, and though she still has accidents on occasion she is getting the house breaking down. Our last basset is Dinwiddie, Dinny for short. I found Dinny on Craigslist. His owner had died and the family did not want to have anything to do with him. He was put on Craigslist as a free basset by a caring employee of the previous owner. Dinny had be well loved and cared for at one time, but had a severe UTI and was very confused when he came to us, just over 2 weeks ago. Rudolph and Dinny are both 12 years old.
